Enfield Tower Blocks

Delivered by Kensa Contracting this project is the largest shared ground loop array, ground source heat pump retrofit scheme in England with individual Kensa “Shoebox” heatpumps installed in each flat. Installed by Kensa Contracting as per our design, the system provides heating to over 400 flats in 8 x 12 storey tower blocks. Tenants’ bills are reduced from an average of £850 per year to £350 per year with an estimated saving of 773 tonnes of CO2. It won the 2019 district heating project of the year (H&V News) and featured in the Mayor of London’s Climate Action Week program 2019. The shared ground array features 16 shared ground loop systems serving the 8 tower blocks. Each system typically consists of clusters of 7 boreholes serving individual heat pumps installed in each flat.
