Northumberland County Council Fire Stations

Delivered by Kensa Contracting, old electric heaters were removed from 3 firestations owned by Northumberland County Council. Our design catered for boreholes to be drilled in the concrete forecourt whilst the buildings remained operational. The total ground source heat pump capacity is 74kW and the system is served by a total of 2,070m of borehole depth. This project forecast run cost savings for the council of £199,000 over the next 20 years as well as generating £247,000 in income from the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI). The system featured in the finals of the 2018 H&V Awards.
